British Buggy Club Announce Last Ever
Berrow Power Break
The following announcement
was received from the BBC today, Tuesday 5th September 2000:
2000 marks the sixth Berrow event that has been held
in succession and it looks as though this will be the biggest ever held.
Berrow has been increasingly popular but with the recent
developments in the sport we feel that it has outgrown its location
both on a satisfaction level and safety issue. With this in mind we
have decided that this years Berrow will be the last. We need to move
on and create a new event with a fresher approach allowing us to accommodate
all of the recent changes.
What we envisage is an event that covers a long weekend
from either Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday, this will allow
us to put more resource and entertainment into a shorter amount of time
which we feel will benefit the event.
We are looking for a site that can provide accommodation,
large areas for buggying and other wheeled devices, surfing in a safe
environment and a play area for those not wishing to enter any competitive
events.
The site also needs somewhere that we can spend the
evenings (in the dry) being entertained by professionals of our choice.
We aim to make the event at around the same time as usual.
Regards,
The BBC
